It's a good idea to keep a little bit of latex-free Theraband on hand. Especially when you draw a smiley face in the middle of it. |
When a student needs to strengthen those instrinsic hand muscles and other muscles related to hand strength just ask them to stretch the smiley face. |
Varying arm positions help sustain the student's interest in the activity. |

Love this idea as well. I wanted to share an adaptation I did for a child with poor grasp.
The class uses Q-tips to dip into glue for art activity. He is not able to hold the Q-tip well and falls out of his fingers often.
I took a hair roller (soft foam) and super glued a Q-tip inside of it. So the Q-tip is sticking out and it works really well. It's re-used each time but I made several.
